Author Dr. Seuss, Theodor Seuss Geisel was raised in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2nd, 1904. After writing his first children’s book in the year of 1937 he decided to change his name to Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss received his education at Dartmouth College and became the college’s humor magazines editor in chief. He continued his education at Oxford University in England. During his time spent in England, he married his wife named Helen Palmer in the year of 1927. Dr. Seuss first began an early career in cartooning and advertising articles and illustrations for Life, Vanity Fair, PM Magazine, Judge, Standard One, and newspapers.
This start of his career led Dr. Seuss to begin with working within the genre of children’s literature. His first published children’s book was called, “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street” in the year of 1937. After World War II, Dr. Seuss created his most well known children’s books that include, “The Cat In The Hat,” “Green Eggs and Ham,” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Dr. Seuss lived on an extremely successful career of both writing and illustrating classic and essential children’s storybooks of all time. Marie Curie was a famous historical scientist and educator. She grew up in Warsaw, Poland and was born on November 7th, 1867. At such a young age Marie Curie won a significant medal from her secondary education and worked various jobs after graduating. Marie Curie worked as a governess and as a teacher before she was married. Marie Curie met her husband, Pierre Curie in the year of 1894 while working n Paris at a laboratory, where they both discovered and gained extraordinary scientific achievements.

He was born on February 24th, 1955. Steve Jobs completed high school in California, and then attended college in Portland, Oregon where he decided to take a job and not continue his college education. His first job after his experience in college was to work as a video manufacturer for the company called Atari. Steve Jobs then became a co-founder with the Apple Computer Inc. in 1977, where the Apple computer was created, designed, and invented.

The famous English female writer and novelist named Jane Austen who was born in Steventon, Hampshire in England. Jane was born on December 16, 1775 and became the seventh child of her parent’s Reverend George Austen and Cassandra Austen. Growing up in a large family allowed Jane Austen to develop a close-knit bond and family unit. Jane Austen attended boarding school where she received a formal education of appropriate teaching in a foreign language, music, and dancing education. She developed a love of reading a large education of literature from her father and brothers at their home. The Austen family had a true passion for watching, acting, and writing plays.

Noteworthy author, consultant, and educator Gary R. Howard is an active speaker in educating America’s society of multicultural issues in today’s education system. Gary Howard first graduated with a degree in cultural anthropology and social psychology at Yale University. He continued his education in receiving a master’s degree in education. He began to develop an interest in diversity and multicultural learning and wanted to become more aware of the people, cultures, and life that surrounded him during his education experiences.
Gary Howard has developed a career in his personal experiences of working with topics and issues of civil rights, social justices, equity, education, and diversity. He was a Professor at Western Washington University and at Seattle University. As a writer as well he has written articles, curriculum materials, and a book titled, “We Can’t Teach What We Don’t Know.” Gary Howard is still living promoting a voice of advocacy in providing training and learning to create cultural competence of social justice and systematic change. He actively presents his beliefs and desire to create the change and awareness of societal issues to end injustice and promote equality and fairness across the United States at presentations and conferences that are held focused on multiculturalism. Lois Stalvey was married at a young age and divorced her first husband. She later moved to a new city, which was Chicago and married an advertising director who she met in the city and his name was Bennett Stalvey Jr. Together they had three children and moved their family eventually to Omaha, Nebraska and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 1960’s.

She wanted to become culturally competent of the amounts of social injustices and social inequalities that were taking place during this time period. Lois Stalvey wrote about her personal experiences to inform society and all the racial groups through three memoirs, articles for “The Inquirer,” “The Bulletin,” and the “National Women’s Magazine.” Two of her famous published books include, “The Education of a WASP” and “Getting Ready.” During this time she encountered and promoted individuals to educate themselves by being members on speaking panels that discuss and address racial issues to audiences who live in local communities and neighborhoods. After a successful career of being a living advocate and ally, Lois Stalvey passed away on December 7th, 2004 at the age of 79 after relocating to her final home in Arizona.
