Criteria for Lesson planning
Single group lesson The single group lessons focus specifically on one group of people. The lessons can either be developed to focus on any race, gender, ethnicity, religion, etc. The point of the lesson is to teach students about different backgrounds and experiences that students do or do not identify with in order to allow them to think critically about the way society views different groups.
Below is a file that contains the list of questions I came up with, in class, to help me decide whether my own lesson was appropriate to be used in the classroom. The questions focus on whether students get a comprehensive and honest knowledge about the group and then if students are asked to think critically at the end about the focus group.

Multicultural Unit Lessons A multicultural lesson is inclusive of all different backgrounds throughout the lesson. The theme of the lesson is meant to bring in and represent a variety of different groups of people. The lesson is meant to educate students about a variety of perspectives on the same overarching topic.
I have attached the file of criteria questions I created to determine whether my lesson was multicultural or not. The questions list every different group of people that could be represented and I can individually check off to see which groups are represented in the lesson I am teaching.
